TELL THE CHILDREN -- GENERATION TO GENERATION -- IT'S YOUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TELL IT!

Dear Heavenly Father, as I read these powerful words in the Bible from Joel 1: 3 where it says:
"Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation."
I ponder my own past encounters with the gospel message as well as the words I spoke to my children of my faith in Jesus Christ and the memories of words my parents and grandparents spoke into my life of their faith.

The resurrection season is upon us as many celebrate our risen savior all over the nation in many varied ways.
Help us each and everyone to open up our heart's door to share the hope of eternity, the forgiveness of sins we've experienced, and the salvation message we know to be real with others especially our own children and grandchildren.
Each of us is a walking spiritual story -- help us not to be ashamed of our past journey as we share the deliverances we've experienced throughout our lives because of Jesus' grace, mercy, and forgiveness.
"BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD GO I" is a term we know all too well -- let us grow from our struggles and the struggles of our ancestor's so that future generations will truly know we are overcomers because of Christ who strengthens us.
Please bless my friends and family this Easter season and each new day as you walk through their lives with them during the good times and the bad. Strength them mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually; in Jesus' mighty name I pray, Amen.
THE GOSPEL
1 Corinthians 15
1 Moreover, brethren, I DECLARE UNTO YOU THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES;
4 And that HE WAS BURIED, and that HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, HE WAS SEEN OF ABOVE FIVE HUNDRED BRETHREN AT ONCE; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so WE PREACH, and so YE BELIEVED.

"Please inquire of past generations, And consider the things searched out by their fathers.
 Job 8:8
"These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. "You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Psalm 78

My people, hear my teaching;
listen to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth with a parable;
I will utter hidden things, things from of old—
things we have heard and known,
things our ancestors have told us.

We will not hide them from their descendants;
we will tell the next generation

the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
    to teach their children,
so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.

Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
    but would keep his commands.
They would not be like their ancestors
    a stubborn and rebellious generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.

PRAYER FOR FATHER'S GODLY ROLE MODELING AND EXAMPLES FOR THEIR CHILDREN TO FOLLOW IN

Dear Heavenly Father,
I've been reading in 2nd Chronicles of your book about Jehoshaphat and I see a powerful correlation between a child's relationship with you through his obedience to following the good and godly examples of his father.

"2 Chronicles 17: 3 The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father (ancestor) David. He did not seek [to follow] the Baals [the false gods], 4 but sought the God of his father, and walked in (obeyed) His commandments, and did not act as Israel did. 5 Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had great wealth and honor. 6 His heart was encouraged and he took great pride in the ways of the Lord; moreover, he again removed the high places [of pagan worship] and the Asherim from Judah."
2 Chronicles 20:32 He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not depart from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord. 33 Only the high places [for pagan sacrifices] were not removed, for the people had not yet set their hearts firmly on the God of their fathers."

I'm wondering as America keeps deteriorating morally where have all the godly fathers gone! I am certain many fathers pray, go to church, read the Bible, and provide for their children's needs. Yet something seems to be missing in their boldness against worldly ways. A bit cowardly I guess is what I'm thinking and definitely ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
So today I pray for a new measure of courage for Christian fathers all across our land, a boldness such as in 1 Chronicles 28:20 “And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.”

Jehoshaphat was also weak in some areas -- he didn't always complete the tasks at hand like when he was destroying ALL THE IDOLS (he left a few), his business tactics sucked when he picked the wrong partner (Ahaziah) and his shipping business tanked, he lacked wisdom in giving good direction to his son's choice of a wife and got into a predicament with her evil father (King Ahab).
Mistakes and sins happen but your promises never fail and fathers can draw inner strengths as you remind them of their value and important family and worldly roles. I pray for an outpouring of your love, grace, mercy, strength, and boldness to be release today on fathers as godly role models as they walk their talk before their children. 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Jehoshaphat was a bold follower of God's ways and had a national concern that the people of his kingdom would know the one and only true God, he believed in a strong military, and a good legal system.
Please bless our nation with great leadership, that first starts in the homes.

Please remove any blinders the enemy (Satan) has placed upon fathers and open their spiritual ears to your ways and their minds to understanding wisdom sent from above on behalf of children and our nation.

Bless father's everywhere today with your direction and holy presences in their lives, In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.

Walk a little Plainer Daddy

“Walk a little plainer, Daddy”
said a little boy so frail.
“I’m following in your footsteps
And I don’t want to fail.
Sometimes your steps are very plain,...
Sometimes they are hard to see.
So walk a little plainer,
Daddy, for you are leading me.”

“I know that once you walked this way
many years ago.
And what you did along the way
I’d really like to know.
For sometime when I am tempted
I don’t know what to do.
So walk a little plainer, Daddy
for I must follow you.”

“Someday when I’m grown up,
you are like I want to be.
Then I will have a little boy,
who will want to follow me.
And I would want to lead him right
and help him to be true.
So walk a little plainer,
Daddy For we must follow you.”

DAD'S turn out all right in time!
•4 years old: My Daddy can do anything
•7 years old: My Dad knows a lot, a whole lot
•8 years old: Dad doesn't know quite everything
•12 years old: Oh, well, naturally Father doesn't understand
•14 years old: Father! Hopelessly old-fashioned
•21 years old: He comes up with a good idea now and then...
•30 years old: Must find out what Dad thinks about it
•35 years old: A little patience; let's get Dad's input first
•50 years old: What would Dad have thought about that?
•60 years old: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more

Cats In The Cradle
My child arrived just the other day
He came to the world in the usual way
But there were planes to catch and bills to pay
He learned to walk while I was away
And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew
He'd say "I'm gonna be like you dad...
You know I'm gonna be like you"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home dad?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then

My son turned ten just the other day
He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's play
Can you teach me to throw", I said "Not today
I got a lot to do", he said, "That's ok"
And he walked away but his smile never dimmed
And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah
You know I'm gonna be like him"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home son?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then

Well, he came home from college just the other day
So much like a man I just had to say
"Son, I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while?"
He shook his head and said with a smile
"What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys
See you later, can I have them please?"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home son?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then

I've long since retired, my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"
He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time
You see my new job's a hassle and kids have the flu
But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad
It's been sure nice talking to you"

And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me
He'd grown up just like me
My boy was just like me

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home son?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then

FORGIVEN SINS LEADS TO A MIRACLE HEALING -- READING THE RED

WORDS OF JESUS -- READING THE RED

A Paralytic Healed

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=MATTHEW+9&version=AMP

And Jesus, getting into a boat, crossed over the Sea of Galilee and came to [Capernaum] His own city.
They brought to Him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a stretcher. Seeing their [active] faith [springing from confidence in Him], Jesus said to the paralytic, “Do not be afraid, son; your sins are forgiven [the penalty is paid, the guilt removed, and you are declared to be in right standing with God].”
And some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man blasphemes [by claiming the rights and prerogatives of God]!”
But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?
For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven and the penalty paid,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? [Both are possible for God; both are impossible for man.]
But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority and the power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your stretcher and go home.”
And he got up and went home [healed and forgiven].
When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God and praised Him, who had given such authority and power to men.

Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

http://www.christnotes.org/commentary.php?com=mhc&b=40&c=9

Commentary on Matthew 9:1-8

The faith of the friends of the paralytic in bringing him to Christ, was a strong faith; they firmly believed that Jesus Christ both could and would heal him. A strong faith regards no obstacles in pressing after Christ. It was a humble faith; they brought him to attend on Christ. It was an active faith. Sin may be pardoned, yet the sickness not be removed; the sickness may be removed, yet the sin not pardoned: but if we have the comfort of peace with God, with the comfort of recovery from sickness, this makes the healing a mercy indeed. This is no encouragement to sin. If thou bring thy sins to Jesus Christ, as thy malady and misery to be cured of, and delivered from, it is well; but to come with them, as thy darlings and delight, thinking still to retain them and receive him, is a gross mistake, a miserable delusion. The great intention of the blessed Jesus in the redemption he wrought, is to separate our hearts from sin. Our Lord Jesus has perfect knowledge of all that we say within ourselves. There is a great deal of evil in sinful thoughts, which is very offensive to the Lord Jesus. Christ designed to show that his great errand to the world was, to save his people from their sins. He turned from disputing with the scribes, and spake healing to the sick man. Not only he had no more need to be carried upon his bed, but he had strength to carry it. God must be glorified in all the power that is given to do good.

"GO" -- DELIVERANCE -- DEMONS CAST OUT -- READING THE RED

WORDS OF JESUS -- READING THE RED

Jesus Casts Out Demons

Matthew 8: 28 When He arrived at the other side in the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming out of the tombs met Him. They were so extremely fierce and violent that no one could pass by that way.
29 And they screamed out, “What business do we have [in common] with each other, Son of God? Have You come to torment us before the appointed time [of judgment]?”
30 Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was grazing.
31 The demons began begging Him, “If You drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
32 And He said to them, “GO!” So they came out [of the men] and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and died in the water.
33 The herdsmen ran away, and went to the city and reported everything, including what had happened to the men under the power of demons.
34 And the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and as soon as they saw Him, they begged Him to leave their region.

The IVP New Testament Commentary

Even Demons Know Who Their Lord and Judge Is (8:28-29)

The demoniacs ran to Jesus (Mt 8:28), and the demons protested his coming to torture them (compare Test. Sol. 5:5). Jesus' presence also reduced them to entreating permission just to enter some pigs (v. 30). Yet in contrast to demons, many people remain unaware of Jesus as Lord and Judge.

The Kingdom Is "Already" As Well As "Not Yet" (8:29)
Because the King of the future age arrived in the first century, his kingdom also invaded this world in a way hidden to people but recognized by the evil one and his forces (see also Cullmann 1950:71). The demons here, believing they are free to torment people until the final day and expecting eternal torment in the day of judgment, recognize that their judge has just shown up, before the appointed time. God's ultimate intervention is yet to come, but this does not prevent us from depending on his power over the evil one in the present.

Jesus Values People More Than Animals or Property (8:30-32)
In ancient exorcism traditions, demons typically made a public scene when they departed, melodramatically indicating their protest and the exorcist's power (as in Jos. Ant. 8.48-49; Philostr. V.A. 4.20); but rarely did they make this much of a scene! Pigs can normally swim for some distance if necessary (Alexander 1980:214); given the mortality of demons in some Jewish traditions, this account may suggest that the demons were at least disabled or bound in hell. It would have made sense to the earliest Jewish hearers of this story that demons wished to enter pigs and that Jesus let the herd perish, but to the owners of the swine (in preinsurance days) the destruction of their herd meant financial loss, not just "deviled ham." The deliverance of the demoniacs mattered more to Jesus than the fate of the swine (see also Hooker 1983:39).

Most People Value Property More Than God's Deliverance (8:33-34)
Gentile wonderworkers were often "magicians," whose power others perceived as malevolent more often than not (as in Apul. Metam. 2.5, 20, 30; 3.16-18; 9.30). Ignoring the men's deliverance and focusing on the destruction of the property, the Gadarenes viewed Jesus as a magician, dangerous to their interests.
People's presuppositions are so strong that even divine miracles will not always convert them. I once debated for about seven hours with a professor in his office, providing evidence to refute his objections to Christianity and citing line after line of evidence for the truth of the Christian faith, each of which he dismissed on the basis of presuppositions. Finally exasperated, I demanded, "Would you believe in Jesus if someone were raised from the dead in front of you in his name?"
"No," he responded, "I'd say they weren't really dead."
"And you have the audacity to call me closed-minded for being a Christian?" I retorted.
We cannot, however, assume in advance who will respond to our testimony; most of us would have guessed that of all the Gadarenes, the ones least likely to respond to Jesus would be the demoniacs. As an atheist I argued vehemently against the gospel the first day I heard it, and the people who witnessed to me did not learn until a year later that I had become a Christian later that day and led ten people to Christ in the intervening year. We are responsible to sow seed everywhere and leave the harvest with God (13:3-23).
