ITS STILL THE CROSS

EVENTS SURROUNDING JESUS' EXECUTION
  1. Judas – BETRAYAL
  2. The disciples arguing about who was greatest or falling asleep in Gethsemane – INSENSITIVITY TO HIS NEEDS AND CONCERSN
  3. The all fled at the time of His arrest –A BANDONMENT
  4. The threefold denial by His most assertive follower, Peter – DENIAL AND DISLOYALTY
  5. False witness at His trail – MISREPRENTATION
  6. The maneuverings of the Jewish leaders – INJUSTICE
  7. The attack by the Roman soldiers – BRUTALITY, ABUSE, AND CRUELTY
  8. Being stripped naked and crucified – HUMILIATION
  9. The taunts of the onlookers – MOCKERY AND VERBAL ABUSE
  10. The deep brutality of the crucifixion itself.
ALL OF THIS WAS INFLICTED ON AN ENTIRELY INNOCENT AND RIGHTEOUS VICTIM!

STILL HE FORGAVE!

It's Still The Cross

THE
CROSS
One board nailed
across another.
For more than
2000 years,
people have followed this sign. In the middle of the
Cross is the heart of the man who died upon it.
A peasant who established a kingdom. A carpenter
who built a church for all times. A sentenced
criminal whose death won eternal life. The
Cross is a sign of contradiction: We gain our soul
by losing it. Our
weakness is our
strength. The
last shall be first.
Our enemies
deserve our love.
The greatest deed
is to care for the
least of humanity.
At the
juncture of two
planks, all truth
can be found –
the crux of life
and death. Let us
make the way of
the Cross our
way of life.

DRAGONFLY STORY -- CHANGE ME

The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.

The traditional association of Dragonflies with water also gives rise to this meaning to this amazing insect. The Dragonfly’s scurrying flight across water represents an act of going beyond what’s on the surface and looking into the deeper

The dragonfly normally lives most of its life as a nymph or an immature. It flies only for a fraction of its life and usually not more than a few months. This adult dragonfly does it all in these few months and leaves nothing to be desired.

This style of life symbolizes and exemplifies the virtue of living IN the moment and living life to the fullest. By living in the moment you are aware of who you are, where you are, what you are doing, what you want, what you don’t and make informed choices on a moment-to-moment basis.

This ability lets you live your life without regrets like the great dragonfly.
The Dragonfly Story

Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads, there lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions.

Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their friend was dead, gone forever.

Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top.

When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying.

So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never known existed.

Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended.

But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he understood that their time would come, when they, too, would know what he now knew.

So, he raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life!

I HAVE A DREAM

South Pacific - HD STEREO - HAPPY TALK

ELVIS PRESLEY ― If I Can Dream

I will stand at my guard post
And station myself on the tower;
And I will keep watch to see what He will say to me,
And what answer I will give [as His spokesman] when I am reproved.

Then the Lord answered me and said,
“Write the vision
And engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets
So that the one who reads it will run.
“For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time
It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail.
Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it,
Because it will certainly come; it will not delay.
“Look at the proud one,
His soul is not right within him,
But the righteous will live by his faith [in the true God].

who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body,

What Is A Dream?

a dream is a magical thing

a rainbow of joy in your heart

your own secret corner
where no one can go
where the path
to fulfillment can start.
a dream lures you on,
always one step ahead
until you have caught it,
and then there's always another
to capture your soul
and lead you onward again.

My Friend
My friend, I stand in judgment now

And feel that you're to blame somehow

While on this earth I walked with you day by day
And never did you point the way
You knew the Lord in truth and glory
But never did you tell the story

My knowledge then was very dim
You could have led me safe to him
Though we lived together here on earth
You never told me of your second birth
And now I stand this day condemned
Because you failed to mention him

You taught me many things, that's true
I called you friend and trusted you
But now I learned, now it's too late
You could have kept me from this fate

We walked by day and talked by night
And yet you showed me not the light
You let me live, love and die
And all the while you knew I'd never live on high

Yes, I called you friend in life
And trusted you in joy and strife
Yet in coming to this end
I see you really weren't my friend.

FOOLS WISE IN THEIR OWN EYES -- SO SOW KINGDOM SEEDS

Romans 1: 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Sowing and reaping is one of the simplest,
yet most ignored concepts of life.
Anything we put our time, energy, money, or focus on is an act of sowing. Reaping is the results or consequences of what we’ve sown. The ramification of our reaping depends on the amount of effort and time we put into the sowing.

SO SOW

Sow Tears…Reap Joy

“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy” (Psalm 126:5)
Many times we experience grief on this earth whether due to tragedies, disappointments, or sickness. Yet for those who put their trust in the Lord, there can still be peace and joy in the midst of it—not because we don’t hurt, but because God is with us. He becomes our refuge and hope to get through the difficult days.

Sow Righteousness…Reap Reward

“A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward” (Proverbs 11:18).
Doing the right thing doesn’t always make us look good or feel appreciated. Sometimes doing the righteous thing will make other people hate us. Our choice is about God—His glory and honor is evident in our right decisions. There’s reward in this lifetime and the next when we press ourselves to sow righteousness.

Sow Injustice…Reap Calamity

“Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity, and the rod they wield in fury will be broken” (Proverbs 22:8).
Nothing we do is hidden from the Lord. When we choose to act in an unjust manner towards others, we will reap calamity or pain from it eventually. Many of us don’t recognize that sometimes we are suffering indirectly for things we’ve done wrong. The Lord is patient and wants each of His children to come to the place of dealing with injustice in our hearts and actions.

Sow to the Flesh/Spirit… Reap Destruction/Eternal Life

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life” (Galatians 6:7-8).
We can deceive ourselves into believing that we won’t pay the price for sowing into our flesh. However, God knows and He will render due justice to each person on the earth. Destruction and eternal life are complete opposites—if we want eternal life and we need to take the correct actions of making the investment into spiritual decisions and/or disciplines.

Sow Sparingly/Generously… Reap Sparingly/Generously

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6).
Stinginess and hoarding should never be a part of a Christian’s walk. We are called to hold lightly to material things as a means for essential life necessities. However many of us are guilty for sowing our money sparingly towards God’s work, but generously towards our needs and/or wants. God pours out blessings on the faithful generous believers that are far more expansive than just money. He blesses with His presence filled with joy and peace in incredible generosity.

Sow Nothing…Reap Nothing

“Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow’” (Luke 19:20-21).
At the judgment seat of Christ, there will be tears of regret for many believers. They will make it into heaven because of their faith in Jesus, yet they will suffer loss because they sowed nothing with what God gave them. We are saved by Christ to do good works for the kingdom. Believers must use their gifts given to them from God to affect change in their families and communities.

Sow in good soil…Reap a Crop

“Jesus told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field’” (Matthew 13:24).
The man sowing is Jesus and the good seed are those who belong to the kingdom of God. The Lord has planted His people specifically where He can use their lives for God’s glory. We are meant to shine out of the worldly darkness with the light of Jesus Christ. Our words, actions, and attitudes reflect the beautiful transformation of knowing God and being known by Him.

What are you sowing today?

It’s not a matter if you think you are sowing or not. Step out of the deception and recognize that your life is one big field waiting for the right seeds to be planted. It’s best to take out a little time to do an inventory of your life. You can start with a small seed of determination to make a change and one day reap a huge dividend of eternal reward from God.

REVIVE -- BASICS OF LIFE -- ACTS 2: 42-47 -- LEADER

LEADERS ARE LIFE'S OFFENSIVE PLAYERS
“Give me one hundred men who love only God with all their heart and hate only sin with all their heart, and we will shake the gates of hell and bring in the kingdom of God in one generation.” John Wesley

God is looking for imperfect men and women who have learned to walk in moment-by-moment dependence on the Holy Spirit. Christians who have come to terms with their inadequacies, fears, and failures. Believers who have become discontent with ‘surviving’ and have taken the time to investigate everything God has to offer in this life.– Charles Stanley

Acts 2:42 They were continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the instruction of the apostles, and to fellowship, to eating meals together and to prayers.
43 A sense of awe was felt by everyone, and many wonders and signs (attesting miracles) were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all those who had believed [in Jesus as Savior] were together and had all things in common [considering their possessions to belong to the group as a whole]. 45 And they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing the proceeds with all [the other believers], as anyone had need. 46 Day after day they met in the temple [area] continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes. They were eating their meals together with joy and generous hearts, 47 praising God continually, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved.

4HIM - The Basics of Life

1 Corinthians 1: 26 Just look at your own calling, believers; not many [of you were considered] wise according to human standards, not many powerful or influential, not many of high and noble birth. 27 But God has selected [for His purpose] the foolish things of the world to shame the wise [revealing their ignorance], and God has selected [for His purpose] the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong [revealing their frailty]. 28 God has selected [for His purpose] the insignificant (base) things of the world, and the things that are despised and treated with contempt, [even] the things that are nothing, so that He might reduce to nothing the things that are, 29 so that no one may [be able to] boast in the presence of God. 30 But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God [revealing His plan of salvation], and righteousness [making us acceptable to God], and sanctification [making us holy and setting us apart for God], and redemption [providing our ransom from the penalty for sin], 31 so then, as it is written [in Scripture], “He who boasts and glories, let him boast and glory in the Lord.”

We're looking to your promise of old

"To the church a revival means humiliation, a bitter knowledge of failure, and an open and humiliating confession of sin on the part of her ministers and people. It is not the easy and glowing thing many think it to be, who imagine that it fills the empty pews, and reinstates the Church in power and authority. IT COMES TO SCORCH BEFORE IT HEALS; it comes to rebuke ministers and people for their unfaithful witness, for their selfish living, for their neglect of the Cross, and to call them to daily renunciation, to an evangelical poverty, and to a deep and daily consecration. This is why a revival has ever been unpopular with large numbers within the Church. Because it says nothing to them of power such as they have learned to love, or of ease, or of success; it accuses them of sin, it tells them that they are dead, it calls them to awake, to renounce the world, and to follow Christ." 1909 by James Burns

Carman - Revive Us Oh Lord

To snatch the passing moment and
examine it for signs of eternity
is the noblest of occupations.

SPIRITUAL-AWAKENING
1. Ask God to bring deep conviction of sin, spiritual brokenness, a holy fear of God and genuine repentance among His people. There will be no revival without these elements and only God can produce them in His people. After all we cannot program or work up genuine brokenness and repentance. (2 Corinthians 7:10) "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death."
2. Pray for deep cleansing, genuine repentance, and spiritual power to engulf pastors and Christian leaders. Revival and spiritual awakening are extremely unlikely without a mighty move of God in pastors and Christian leaders. Renewed pastors are absolutely crucial to a move of God in our day! (Ephesians 6:14-20)
"14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."
3. Pray for God to bestow spiritual hunger in His people and draw them to fervent intercession. God has to grant people the genuine faith and the fervent desire for prayer. With all our promotion and programming, we cannot “produce a genuine prayer movement. (Philippians 2:13) "for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."
4. Pray that God will bring loving unity in our churches and a deep harmony between our churches. Many churches need healing among members and many churches need to stop competing jealously with other churches. (John 13:35) " By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
5. Pray for God to fill His people with a passion to see people saved. (Only God can give a genuine burden for souls.) Until God’s people intensely pray for the lost and do aggressive soul winning revival will tarry. Be sure you are constantly praying for many lost people by name. (Romans 9:1-3)
"I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit— 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race,"
6. Pray for God to give His people a passion for missions and starting churches. Great revivals produce an explosion of mission projects, new ministries and new church starts. Only God can grant a genuine passion for missions. (Matthew 28:19) "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"
7. Pray that God will call thousands into ministry, missions and Christian service. Many churches are dying for lack of soul winners, teachers and church workers. Furthermore, we can start only as many churches as we have church planters to start them. (Matthew 9:37) "Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."
8. Pray that God will pour out His Spirit like a mighty purifying flood. Ask God to purify our “motives as we pray for revival. After all it is possible to pray for revival for selfish or ambitious reasons. Our motives must be solely for: (a) the glory of God, and (b) the increase of the kingdom of God. We must not pray for revival just to solve our own problems or make our church successful in the eyes of men. (James 4:2) "You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God."
9. Pray for a mighty move of conviction and salvation upon communities of cultural influence. Some key examples are Hollywood actors and producers, government officials, educators, teachers, and college professors, news and media people, talk shows hosts, comedians, homosexual activists groups, and the music industry. (1 Timothy 2:1-2) "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."
10. Specifically pray for God to pour out His Spirit in a fashion even greater than He did in America in 1858 and Wales in 1904. (Ten percent of Wales’ population was saved in five months!) Ask God for a modern day of Pentecost in the United States and Canada. (Mark 11:22-24; John 14:13-14.) "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. 23 "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
(Copied by permission from A Powerful Prayer Life by Gregory Frizzell)

The following are Scripture prayers that you can use to plead with God for revival. These requests are based on the Word of God and are the revealed will of God for the church.
