BAPTISM -- BAPTIZED -- By Water and Blood

He that believeth and is BAPTIZED shall be saved Mark16:16

John did BAPTIZE in the wilderness, and preach the BAPTISM of repentance for the remission of sins. Mark 1:4, 5
Acts 16:31 They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD.” 32 And they spoke the word of [a]the Lord to him together with... all who were in his house. 33 And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately HE WAS BAPTIZED, HE AND ALL OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.

Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST JESUS have been BAPTIZED INTO HIS DEATH? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through BAPTISM into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 7 for he who has died is freed from sin.

1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit are we all BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

Galatians 3:27 “For as many of you as have been BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST have put on Christ.”

1 Peter 3:21 Corresponding to that, BAPTISM NOW SAVES YOU —not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

Overcoming the World

1 John 5: 1 Everyone who believes [with a deep, abiding trust in the fact] that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) is born of God [that is, reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], and everyone who loves the Father also loves the child born of Him. By this we know [without any doubt] that we love the children of God: [expressing that love] when we love God and obey His commandments. For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey]. For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].
Who is the one who is victorious and overcomes the world? It is the one who believes and recognizes the fact that Jesus is the Son of God. This is He who came through water and blood [His baptism and death], Jesus Christ—not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. It is the [Holy] Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. [He is the essence and origin of truth itself.] For there are three witnesses: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three are in agreement [their testimony is perfectly consistent]. If we accept [as we do] the testimony of men [that is, if we are willing to take the sworn statements of fallible humans as evidence], the testimony of God is greater [far more authoritative]; for this is the testimony of God, that He has testified regarding His Son. 10 The one who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies confidently on Him as Savior] has the testimony within himself [because he can speak authoritatively about Christ from his own personal experience]. The one who does not believe God [in this way] has made Him [out to be] a liar, because he has not believed in the evidence that God has given regarding His Son. 11 And the testimony is this: God has given us eternal life [we already possess it], and this life is in His Son [resulting in our spiritual completeness, and eternal companionship with Him]. 12 He who has the Son [by accepting Him as Lord and Savior] has the life [that is eternal]; he who does not have the Son of God [by personal faith] does not have the life.

In the second chapter of Acts, Peter had convicted the people there of having killed the Son of God.
In verse 37 their question was, "Men and brethren WHAT SHALL WE DO?"
In Acts 2:38 (KJV),
"Then Peter said unto them, REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ FOR THE REMISSION OF YOUR SINS.
Here people were told to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sins.
Note that baptism comes before the remission of sins. The only baptism that may be performed "in the name of Jesus Christ", that is by His authority, is an immersion "for the remission of sins"
