Each Must Cross Death's Valley -- To Get To The Other Shore

As I walk upon the shore
I think of all
Who walked here before
Some came in laughter
Others in tears
Over generations
And many years.

Men and women
Young and old
Would come to find peace
In the sunset of gold

They came to find peace
from worldly strife
They would come to find peace
From that thing we call life.

As the waves break
Upon the sand
I wish that I could take
A trip to the far off
Peaceful sunset land.

PSALM 23:
"Yea, though I WALK THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, today I calmly WALK THROUGH with you what ever may come my way.

This morning, I have willingly picked up my cross in preparation for any and all sorrows or joys you may allow to come my way.

Though trials may come I want to steadily advance with you WALKING THROUGH it all by my side.

Thank you Lord, I truly do recall the many times you have WALKED THROUGH shadows of darknesses that were punching at me and often knocking me down as fear tried to overtake me -- the auto accidents, the illnesses, the griefs, the regrets, and also my lonely and lost times I forgot you or couldn't accept or trust your love to lead me in righteousness!

Lead on now this day Lord, though there may be plots of evil or wolfs prowling and trying to devour me, I know from past victories that the protection of your staff will drive them away and we will walk together tending others (lost or hurt) and adding others who want to come along to join your flock.

It will be a good day because we won't be stopped along the way by any enemies, dangers, or fears -- WE SIMPLY WILL WALK THROUGH ONE MORE LOVELY DAY TOGETHER.
AMEN
As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples,
“Let’s cross to the other side.”

In order to reach the other shore

you must lose sight of this one.

Gone From My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, 'There, she is gone'
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me - not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, 'There, she is gone,'
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, 'Here she comes!'
And that is dying...
Death comes in its own time, in its own way.
Death is as unique as the individual experiencing it.

DEATH -- Cremation Is It Christian Or Pagan?

Cremation
Is It Christian Or Pagan?
"In recent months, a number of people have asked me if cremation is Scriptural and acceptable to God. It is a subject that most people would rather avoid, but in recent years it has become quite an issue. More and more people are electing to have themselves or their loved ones cremated due to the reduced cost compared to customary burial. The purpose of this tract is to take a brief and concise, but in-depth, look at this subject. We will see what the Bible has to say about it, and then, as a Christian, you can decide what to do regarding this sensitive matter.
The first point I would like to make is that cremation does not affect salvation as many people are cremated without the knowledge of it happening to their remains. I do emphatically state, however, that no properly informed Christian would choose cremation. We do know that some people are accidentally burned to death in fires of various types and causes. We also know that the Church of Rome burned many Christian martyrs at the stake. Certainly, being a victim of an earthly fire does not necessarily determine where you will spend eternity.
We must ask the question, why would a Christian choose to have his or her body burned to ashes after death? In I Corinthians 6:19-20, we read as follows: “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Why would a Christian want to burn to ashes the temple that God lived in?
We also understand that God refers to the body at the time of death as a seed to be planted. In I Corinthians 15:35-38, 42-44, we read, “But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die. And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain. But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body…So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.” Thus, the body is to be sown, or planted, in the ground and not burned to ashes.
We also know that our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, was buried, and He is our great example in all things. When Jesus blessed the woman who had anointed Him shortly before He was crucified, He said the following words, which are found in Mark 14:8-9: “She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, wheresoever this Gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.” Thus, the burial of Jesus was a part of the Gospel itself. The Gospel, or good news, is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospel cannot be represented by choosing to have your body burned!
We also know that when Moses died, God himself buried him. In Deuteronomy 34:5-6 we read the following words: “So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulcher unto this day.” In this case, God himself did the burying, and He did not cremate Moses! We also know that Satan, to whom is reserved everlasting fire, wanted the body of Moses but could not have it. Verse 9 of Jude tells us, “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”
Yet another example tells us of Joseph, the son of Jacob, in Hebrews 11:22. “By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel, and gave commandment concerning his bones.” Please note that it was a commandment and not a suggestion concerning his bones!
Fire has always been a sign of the judgment of Almighty God! We know that God rained fire on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of the pervasive homosexuality in those cities. We read of this in Genesis, chapters 18 and 19. These cities and their inhabitants were incinerated, or cremated, by the wrath of Almighty God.
We also read of God’s anger and consternation against Moab because of their cremation activity. In Amos 2:1 we read, “Thus saith the Lord, for three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.”
After reading all of the above, we can certainly conclude that voluntary cremation is wrong in the eyes of God. We also know that it is pagan! Idolatry often included human sacrifice in the fires of pagan gods like Chemosh and Molech. That is why God commanded the following in Deuteronomy 18:10: “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.” Here we see the connection of the burning of bodies with witchcraft itself. We know that both witches, who do not believe in Satan, and Satanists, who do believe in Satan, use the power of fire in their forbidden crafts. We also know that Hinduism and Buddhism use cremation in their false religions. This brings out another point which should tie this whole subject together.
In these last days before the return of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus, we know that many false religions would arise and deceive many. We read of this in Matthew, chapter 24; Luke, chapter 21; and Mark, chapter 13. We also see from Luke, chapter 17, that the spirits of homosexuality would fill the world before Jesus Christ’s return and turn the entire earth into a latter day Sodom. We now see this coming to pass. The United States, for example, is filled with Eastern religions, Buddhism, Hinduism and others of that ilk. Homosexuality, lesbianism, and bisexuality are also everywhere in America. Do you see the connection of all of this with fire? It is no wonder that the spirit of cremation and burning is becoming so popular. It is compatible with the other spirits who have used it for centuries. Cremation and burning is also the spirit of Sodom, and it was fiery wrath that turned Sodom to ashes.
The spirit of cremation is in defiance to the plan of the Almighty God, the Creator. After Adam and Eve sinned and death became a part of existence, God told them in Genesis 3:19, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Ecclesiastes 12:7 states likewise, “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
Christians should know better than to purposely select to have their bodies burned! If you didn’t know it before, now you do! If we walk in obedience, we will have the joy of the Lord; and death is nothing more than a step into the glorious presence of God forever. We must dedicate our bodies, souls, and minds unto our Saviour. Glory to his Name!"

Cremation and Its Pagan Connections

The history of cremation attests to its roots in pagan societies whose idea of a human being is similar to Greek gnosticism, and who have no hope of a bodily resurrection.
Biblical data points to burial as the honorable treatment of the dead, and burning as desecration of or God’s judgment against the dead.
Biblical evidence also makes burial as the primary option for Christians who believe in a future resurrection of the dead.
Should a Christian be Cremated?

What about the practice of cremation?  Is it Biblical in origin?
Should a child of God allow themselves to be cremated when they
die?  What is the true origin of this common custom?  There is
far more to this story than you may imagine!  You may be surprised
at the shocking, incredible truth about cremation!

ABORTION -- PREMATURE DEATH -- SIN

We Need To Confess Our Sin

Proverbs 28:13 People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Hosea 5:15  Then I will return to my place until they admit their guilt and turn to me. For as soon as trouble comes, they will earnestly search for me.”

God Forgives Our Sin

1 John 1:7-9 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.  If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Forgiving One Another’s Sins

Luke 17:3-4 So watch yourselves!    “If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”

CHANGE -- trying to covering-up sin (rape-incest-adultery) with abortion will never work -- to kill the innocent product (by premature death) rather than confess your sins, changing, and being accountable does not fool God.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. James 5: 16

If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
James 4: 17

TAKE WARNING from those who fell away in unbelief:
•Some no longer have faith at all (II Thessalonians 3:2).
•Some have shipwrecked their faith (I Timothy 1:19).
•Some have left the faith for the doctrines of devils (I Timothy 4:1).
•Some have denied the faith by not providing for their family (I Timothy 5:8).
•Some have cast off their first faith (I Timothy 5:12).
•Some have turned aside after Satan (I Timothy 5:15).
•Some have erred from the faith for the love of money (I Timothy 6:10, 21).
•Some will overthrow the faith of others (II Timothy 2:17-18).
•Some are reprobate [disqualified] concerning the faith (II Timothy 3:8).
The sin of being silent.

Ezekiel 3:18-19 If I say to the wicked, “You shall surely die,” and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
James 4:4 You adulterers! Don’t you know that friendship with the world means hostility with God? So whoever wants to be a friend of this world is an enemy of God.
1 Corinthians 10:20-21 No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
1 John 2:15 Stop loving the world and the things that are in the world. If anyone persists in loving the world, the Father’s love is not in him.
How can you justify the wicked and stand up for the devil rather than God? How can you call what goes against God’s Word good? How can you love what God hates? Whose side are you on?

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:45

Matthew 12:33-42 Amplified Bible (AMP) Words Reveal Character 33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is recognized and judged by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers, how can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. 35 The good man, from his [inner] good treasure, brings out good things; and the evil man, from his [inner] evil treasure, brings out evil things. 36 But I tell you, on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak. 37 For by your words [reflecting your spiritual condition] you will be justified and acquitted of the guilt of sin; and by your words [rejecting Me] you will be condemned and sentenced.” The Desire for Signs 38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign (attesting miracle) from You [proving that You are what You claim to be].” 39 But He replied and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation [that is morally unfaithful to God] craves and demands a [miraculous] sign; but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah; 40 for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will stand up [as witnesses] at the judgment against this generation, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now, something greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South (Sheba) will stand up [as a witness] at the judgment against this generation, and will condemn it because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon; and now, something greater than Solomon is here.

DEATH THEN JUDGMENT -- THE GOSPEL A SAFE HARBOR

Now I would remind you, brothers, of THE GOSPEL I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and BY WHICH YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received:
THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SCRIPTURES,
THAT HE WAS BURIED,
THAT HE WAS RAISED ON THE THIRD DAY
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SCRIPTURES.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"THE APPOINTMENT OF DEATH (HEBREWS 9:27a)
God has appointed man death and he must experience it.
Speaking about death, Job said in, (Job 7:1) “Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth”.
We each have an appointment with death.
It says in, (Hebrews 9:27a) “It is appointed unto men once to die”.
We all know the truth of this statement do we not?
Most of us have family and friends that have kept their appointment with death.
We will keep ours also, at God’s appointed time.
Alison Krauss - I'll fly away
Why is it so that man must die?  It was never part of God’s original creation.  When sin came in death came in.  God said to Adam, (Genesis 2:17) “In the day that thou eatest thereof (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil) thou shalt surely die”.  Adam and Eve disobeyed and sinned against God and death came in.  It says in (Romans 6:23)” The wages of sin is death”.

It says also in, (Romans 5:12) “Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”.   Death is the direct result of sin.  The brevity of life, which is emphasized over and over again in scripture, is also the result of sin.

There are no “Methuselah’s” in these days that live to be 969 years.
There are no “Abraham’s” in these days who live to be 175 years.

(Psalm 90:10) gives us the divine allotment of the life of man in the normal course of events.
It says, “The days of our years are three score and ten (70) and if by reason of strength they be fourscore (80) years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow, for it is soon cut off and we fly away”.

Mankind, however, can not count on having seventy years.
There are many whose lifetimes are much shorter because of disease, accidents, etc.
It is a sobering experience to walk through a cemetery, any cemetery, and observe the ages of those who have died.
Many were relatively young when they kept their appointment with death.
It says in, (James 4:14) “Ye know not what shall be on the morrow, for what is your life?  It is even a vapor (a puff of smoke) that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away”.

Life is not only brief it is uncertain.
It says in, (Ecclesiastes 9:12) “Man knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them”.

Dear reader, are YOU prepared for eternity?  Are YOU prepared to meet God?  Have YOU taken refuge from the coming storm of God’s wrath and judgment?
Death will end your opportunity to be saved.  If you die in your sins there will be sudden and eternal confinement in hell and the lake of fire.  Man has another appointment following death.

God has appointed man a time for judgment and man must appear for it.
It says in, (Hebrews 9:27) “It is appointed unto man once to die, BUT AFTER THIS THE JUDGMENT”.  Those who die in their sins, unsaved, will be resurrected for judgment.

It says in, (John 5:28, 29) “The hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice (the Lord Jesus Christ), and shall come forth … they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation (judgment)”.
God gives strong encouragement in His Word to all who have fled to Christ for refuge from coming judgment.
It says in, (Romans 8:1)”There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus”.
To be “in Christ” means that one has believed on Him and received Him as their personal Savior.  (John 3:18) “He that believeth on Him is not condemned (judged): but he that believeth not is condemned (judged) already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”.
(John 3:36)”He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him”.
Have you believed on Him?  Are you “born again”?  Are you “in Christ”?  It says in, (2 Corinthians 5:17) “”If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (creation): old things have passed away; behold all things are new.”
Have you had this conversion experience?"
