SHIELD OF FAITH AGAINST FIERY DARTS

Still another said, “I will follow You, Lord; but first let me bid farewell to my family.”
Luke 9:61-62
For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man.
The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.
James 4:7

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].
2 Timothy 1:7
For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
Colossians 1:13
Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord.
Psalm 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
3 For He will save you from the trap of the fowler,
And from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions,
And under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.
5 You will not be afraid of the terror of night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But danger will not come near you.
8 You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes
And witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High].
9 Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.
11 For He will command His angels in regard to you,
To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
12 They will lift you up in their hands,
So that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra;
The young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;
I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].
15 “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 “With a long life I will satisfy him
And I will let him see My salvation.”

How Long by Petra

We have sung our songs of victory
We have prayed to You for rain.
We have cried for Your compassion
to renew the land again.
Now we're standing in Your presence
more hungry than before.
Now we're on Your steps of mercy
and we're knocking at Your door.

How long, before You drench the barren land? How long, before we see Your righteous hand? How long, before Your name is lifted high? How long, before the weeping turns to songs of joy?

Lord we know Your heart is broken,
by the evil that You see.
And You've stayed Your hand of judgement
for Your plan to set men free.
But the land is still in darkness
and we've fled from what is right.
And we've failed the silent children
who will never see the light.

How long, before You drench the barren land? How long, before we see Your righteous hand? How long, before Your Name is lifted high? How long, before the weeping turns to songs of joy?

But I know a day is coming, when the deaf will hear His voice. And the blind will see the Saviour, and the lame will leap for joy. When a widow finds a husband, who will always love His bride. And the orphan finds a Father, Who will never leave her side.

How long, before Your glory lights the skies? How long, before Your radiance lifts our eyes? How long, before Your fragrance fills the air? How long, before the earth resounds with songs?

Prayer Changes Everything

I Have Decided To Follow Jesus

THOUGH NONE GO WITH ME STILL I WILL FOLLOW.
NO TURNING BACK.
I Have Decided to Follow Jesus is a Christian hymn that originated in Assam, India. According to Dr P. Job, the lyrics are based on the last words of Nokseng, a Garo man, a tribe from Meghalaya which then was in Assam, who along with his family decided to follow Jesus Christ in the middle of the 19th century through the efforts of an American Baptist missionary. Called to renounce his faith by the village chief, the convert declared, "I have decided to follow Jesus." His two children were killed and in response to threats to his wife, he continued, "Though no one join me, still I will follow." His wife was killed, and he was executed while singing, "The world behind me, The cross before me." This display of faith is reported to have led to the conversion of the chief and others in the village. The fierce opposition is possible, as various tribes in that area were formerly renowned for head-hunting.
Psalms 89:32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
2 Corinthians 6:5 |In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

CHILD ABUSE -- PRAYER

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER,
We pray for your love and protection to go out to all young lives -- that you will give them wisdom, discernment, hopes, dreams, and joys each and every new day.

Young King Josiah at age 8 found the truths of the scriptures by hearing and reading them and then acting them out boldly in 2 Kings 22. Likewise did Hezekiah in 2 Kings 18, at age 25, do what was right in the sight of God.

We believe every one is called to be great in each their own way and you, Lord, have a very special plan for each life that will serve a wonderful purpose for this generation -- please let not their God given gifts and talents be wasted in any way -- bless each of them mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.

Make them leaders for goodwill and kindness, role models of generosity, grace, mercy, and forgiveness.

Fill them with the might of the Holy Spirit and protect them from the enemy of their soul by placing your angels round about them.

Put a hedge of protection about them and also a hedge of thorns that prick their hearts when they turn to go in any direction other than you have designed for their life.

Let the base things of life (food, shelter, clothing) always be provided in abundance for their well being and enough to overflow and share with others around them who may be in need.

There are some who are frail and sick -- please put your healing hands upon them and make them whole.

Use their hands for blessing, their minds for teaching, their words for encouraging others, and their hearts for loving unconditionally.

We give you thanks for each child, each birth, each life!

Please tend each soul as a mighty seed firmly planted, well watered, and fertilized by your Holy Word.

There may be seeds in sprout and in the womb are not yet out; for these too we pray and for all generations to come we pray blessings linage yet to arrive.

Lord, just as you show no partiality to any one help us do likewise always as we know each child develops in their own unique way in your times and seasons.

In Jesus Name I pray -- AMEN

And the smoke of the incense,
with the prayers of the saints,
went up before God out of the angel's hand.
Revelation 8:4
"But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. "Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops." Luke 12:2-3
"For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light." Luke 8:17
Behold, children are a gift of the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.

BREAD OF LIFE

WE ARE TO EAT FRESH AND NEW MANNA EVERY MORNING -- NOT SEARCH THROUGH THE STALE CRUMBS OF OUR YESTERDAYS.
“Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and GATHER A DAY'S PORTION EVERY DAY, THAT I MAY TEST THEM, WHETHER THEY WILL WALK BY MY LAW OR NOT. Exodus 16:4
"Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" Jesus said to them, "Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the TRUE BREAD FROM HEAVEN. For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and GIVES LIFE TO THE WORLD." John 6:31-33
"Then JESUS DECLARED,, "I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35
"At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, "I am THE BREAD THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN." John 6:41
"Here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which ANYONE MAY EAT AND NOT DIE." John 6:50
JUST AS THE MANNA WAS IN ABUNDANCE AND FRESH DAILY -- JESUS IS EVER PRESENT WITH A PERSONAL MESSAGE OF LOVE, HOPE, FAITH, & ETERNAL VICTORY TO EACH OF US IF WE WILL BUT REACH OUT AND FILL OUR INNER BASKET FULL OF BREAD HE SUPPLIES FOR OUR DAILY SPIRITUAL HUNGERS.
IF YOU CAN'T DINE EYE TO EYE WITH SOMEONE -- THERE IS NEED OF RECONCILIATION, FORGIVENESS, AND RESTORATION.
IF YOU CAN'T TAKE JESUS ALONG -- SOMEONE IS NOT EATING DAILY MANNA FROM HEAVEN -- BUT ENJOYING THE LEAVEN OF DIVISION.
PRAY FOR UNITY THROUGH OPPORTUNITIES TO BREAD BREAD AND BREAK BARRIERS.
" For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20

CONFESSION -- OMISSION

Take warning from those who fell away in unbelief:
•Some no longer have faith at all. (II Thessalonians 3:2) "And that we may be delivered from perverse (improper, unrighteous) and wicked (actively malicious) men, for not everybody has faith and is held by it."
•Some have shipwrecked their faith. (I Timothy 1:19) "Holding fast to faith (that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence) and having a good (clear) conscience. By rejecting and thrusting from them [their conscience], some individuals have made shipwreck of their faith."

•Some have left the faith for the doctrines of devils. (I Timothy 4:1) "But the [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach,"
•Some have denied the faith by not providing for their family. (I Timothy 5:8) "If anyone fails to provide for his relatives, and especially for those of his own family, he has disowned the faith [by failing to accompany it with fruits] and is worse than an unbeliever [who performs his obligation in these matters]."
•Some have cast off their first faith. (I Timothy 5:12) " And so they incur condemnation for having set aside and slighted their previous pledge."
•Some have turned aside after Satan. (I Timothy 5:15) "For already some [widows] have turned aside after Satan."
•Some have erred from the faith for the love of money. (I Timothy 6:10, 21) "10 For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute [mental] pangs. 21 [For] by making such profession some have erred (missed the mark) as regards the faith. Grace (divine favor and blessing) be with you all! Amen (so be it)."
•Some will overthrow the faith of others. (II Timothy 2:17-18) "And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene. So it is with Hymenaeus and Philetus,
Who have missed the mark and swerved from the truth by arguing that the resurrection has already taken place. They are undermining the faith of some."
•Some are reprobate [disqualified] concerning the faith. (II Timothy 3:8) "Now just as Jannes and Jambres were hostile to and resisted Moses, so these men also are hostile to and oppose the Truth. They have depraved and distorted minds, and are reprobate and counterfeit and to be rejected as far as the faith is concerned."
"Should We Confess our Sins to Others?
I believe it is good to confess our sins to other Christians but use caution and wisdom. These confessions should be shared with a close Christian brother or sister whom you deeply trust. The reason that you confess your sins is so that the
y might pray for you to overcome these sins (James 5:16-19). If we confess or admit our sins to another believer we know we can trust, that person can pray for us to overcome that specific sin. I recommend those who are struggling with sins of addiction to find an accountability partner and tell them about it and be honest with them. Confess to your brother or sister in Christ when you slip and fall. Then they can pray for you and you can pray for them. The best thing is to have a close Christian friend whom you can be completely honest with and them with you. You both can agree to pray for one another and help each other overcome whatever major sin or sins that each of the two of you battle with. Confession is good for the soul and it is good for our relationship with God."

The Bible says “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23)
and
 1st John 1:8 and 10 says “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us” however the good news is If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1st John 1:9).

LOST AND FOUND

The Truth will set you Free - Dion DiMucci

Luke 15
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
15 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has FOUND it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have FOUND my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

The Parable of the Lost Coin
8 “Or what woman, having ten silver [c]coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she has FOUND it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have FOUND the piece which I lost!’ 10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

The Parable of the Lost Son
11 Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’

20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is FOUND.’ And they began to be merry.

25 “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’

28 “But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. 29 So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. 30 But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’

31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and WAS LOST AND IS FOUND.’ ”

GOOD NAME -- NEW NAME

Great are the dangers I face
to win a GOOD NAME.
A GOOD NAME is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1
A GOOD NAME is better than fine perfume,
and one’s day of death
is better than his day of birth.
Ecclesiastes 7:1
You will be called by
a NEW NAME
Which the mouth of the LORD will designate.

JOY

Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD,
I WILL JOY IN THE GOD OF MY SALVATION.

The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Habakkuk 3:17-19

Be joyful always;
pray continually;
 give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1
