WISDOM - UNDERSTANDING - INSIGHT

Proverbs 2
1 My son, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
2 So that your ear is attentive to [skillful and godly] WISDOM,
And apply your heart to UNDERSTANDING [seeking it conscientiously and striving for it eagerly];
3 Yes, if you cry out for INSIGHT,
And lift up your voice for UNDERSTANDING;
4 If you SEEK skillful and godly WISDOM as you would silver
And SEARCH for her as you would hidden treasures;
5 Then you will UNDERSTAND the [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome]
And DISCOVER THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.
6 For THE LORD GIVES [skillful and godly] WISDOM;
From His mouth come KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING.
7 He stores away sound WISDOM for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him];
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage],
8 He guards the paths of justice;
And He preserves the way of His saints (believers).

Proverbs 3
13 Happy [blessed, considered fortunate, to be admired] is the man who finds [skillful and godly] WISDOM,
And the man who gains UNDERSTANDING and INSIGHT [learning from God’s word and life’s experiences],
14 For WISDOM'S profit is better than the profit of silver,
And her gain is better than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies;
And nothing you can wish for compares with her [in value].
16 Long life is in her right hand;
In her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are highways of pleasantness and favor,
And all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
And happy [blessed, considered fortunate, to be admired] is everyone who holds her tightly.
19 The Lord by His WISDOM has founded the earth;
By His UNDERSTANDING He has established the heavens.
20 By His KNOWLEDGE the deeps were broken up
And the clouds drip with dew.
21 My son, let them not escape from your sight,
But KEEP SOUND WISDOM AND DISCRETION,
22 And they will be life to your soul (your inner self)
And a gracious adornment to your neck (your outer self).
23 Then you will walk on your way [of life] securely
And your foot will not stumble.
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Do not be afraid of sudden fear
Nor of the storm of the wicked when it comes [since you will be blameless];
26 For the Lord will be your confidence, firm and strong,
And will keep your foot from being caught [in a trap].

Proverbs 8
1 Does not WISDOM call,
And UNDERSTANDING lift up her voice?
2 On the top of the heights beside the way,
Where the paths meet, wisdom takes her stand;
3 Beside the gates, at the entrance to the city,
At the entrance of the doors, she cries out:
4 “To you, O men, I call,
And my voice is directed to the sons of men.
5 “O you naive or inexperienced [who are easily misled], understand prudence and seek astute common sense;
And, O you [closed-minded, self-confident] fools, UNDERSTAND WISDOM [seek the insight and self-discipline that leads to godly living].
6 “Listen, for I will speak excellent and noble things;
And the opening of my lips will reveal right things.
7 “For my mouth will utter truth,
And wickedness is repulsive and loathsome to my lips.
8 “All the words of my mouth are in righteousness (upright, in right standing with God);
There is nothing contrary to truth or perverted (crooked) in them.
9 “They are all straightforward to him who understands [with an open and willing mind],
And right to those who find knowledge and live by it.
10 “Take my instruction rather than [seeking] silver,
And TAKE KNOWLEDGE rather than choicest gold,
11 “For WISDOM is better than rubies;
And all desirable things cannot compare with her.

Psalm 111:10 "The [reverent] fear of the Lord is the beginning (the prerequisite, the absolute essential, the alphabet) of wisdom;
A good understanding and a teachable heart are possessed by all those who do the will of the Lord;
His praise endures forever."

Song of Solomon (Official Lyric Video) - Martin Smith
"The Shepherd Lover in the song of Solomon is Jesus Christ. The Shulamite woman who waits for him is the Bride waiting for Christ to come as a rapture. She even searches for Him in the night, because He will come like a thief in the night. He also passes through the mountains of myrr(death)[calvary, golgotha, gethsemane], in the name of love for the Shulamite (Bride)"

SPIRITUALLY UNIQUE

"He who cannot do something big
can do something small
in a big way."

"Martin Luther's shoes will not fit
every village priest."

Ephesians 4:7 Yet grace [God’s undeserved favor] was given to each one of us [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and abundant] gift.

John 3:27 John replied, “A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing at all] unless it has been granted to him from heaven [for there is no other source than the sovereign will of God].
1 Corinthians 12:1 Now about the SPIRITUAL GIFTS [the special endowments given by the Holy Spirit], brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, you were led off after speechless idols; however you were led off [whether by impulse or habit]. 3 Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the [power and influence of the] Spirit of God can say, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “JESUS IS [my] LORD,” except by [the power and influence of] the Holy Spirit.

4 Now there are [distinctive] varieties of spiritual gifts [special abilities given by the grace and extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit operating in believers], but it is the same Spirit [who grants them and empowers believers]. 5 And there are [distinctive] varieties of ministries and service, but it is THE SAME LORD [who is served]. 6 And there are [distinctive] ways of working [to accomplish things], but it is THE SAME GOD WHO PRODUCES ALL THINGS IN ALL BELIEVERS [inspiring, energizing, and empowering them]. 7 But TO EACH IS GIVEN THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SPIRIT [the spiritual illumination and the enabling of the Holy Spirit] FOR THE COMMON GOOD.. 8 To one is given through the [Holy] Spirit [the power to speak] the message of WISDOM, and to another [the power to express] the WORD OF KNOWLEDGE and understanding according to the same Spirit; 9 to another [wonder-working] FAITH [is given] by the same [Holy] Spirit, and to another the [extraordinary] GIFTS OF HEALINGS by the one Spirit; 10 and to another the WORKING OF MIRACLES, and to another PROPHECY [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], and to another DISCERNMENT OF SPIRITS [the ability to distinguish sound, godly doctrine from the deceptive doctrine of man-made religions and cults], to another various kinds of [unknown] TONGUES, and to another INTERPRETATION of tongues. 11 ALL THESE THINGS [the gifts, the achievements, the abilities, the empowering] ARE BROUGHT ABOUT BY ONE AND THE SAME [Holy] SPIRIT, DISTRIBUTING TO EACH ONE INDIVIDUALLY just as He chooses.

12 For just as THE BODY IS ONE and yet HAS MANY PARTS, and ALL PARTS, though many, FORM [only] ONE BODY, so it is with Christ. 13 For BY ONE [Holy] SPIRIT WE WERE ALL BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY, [spiritually transformed—united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life].

14 For the [human] body does not consist of one part, but of many [limbs and organs]. 15 If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” is it not on the contrary still a part of the body? 16 If the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” is it not on the contrary still a part of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole [body] were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But now [as things really are], GOD HAS PLACED AND ARRANGED THE PARTS IN THE BODY, each one of them, just AS HE WILLED AND SAW FIT [with the best balance of function]. 19 If they all were a single organ, where would [the rest of] the body be? 20 But now [as things really are] there are MANY PARTS [different limbs and organs], but A SINGLE BODY. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 But quite the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are [absolutely] necessary; 23 and as for those PARTS of the body which we consider LESS HONORABLE, these we treat with greater honor; and our less presentable parts are treated with greater modesty, 24 while our more presentable parts do not require it. But God has combined the [whole] body, GIVING GREATER HONOR TO THAT PART WHICH LACKS it, 25 so that there would be NO DIVISION OR DISCORD IN THE BODY [that is, lack of adaptation of the parts to each other], but that the parts may have the same concern for one another. 26 And IF ONE MEMBER SUFFERS, ALL PARTS SHARE IN THE SUFFERING, IF ONE MEMBER IS HONORED, ALL REJOICE WITH IT.

27 Now YOU [collectively] ARE CHRIST'S BODY, and INDIVIDUALLY [you are] MEMBERS OF IT [each with his own special purpose and function]. 28 So God has appointed and placed in the church [for His own use]: first APOSTLES [chosen by Christ], second PROPHETS [those who foretell the future, those who speak a new message from God to the people], third TEACHERS, then those who WORK MIRACLES, then those with the GIFTS OF HEALINGS, the HELPERS, the ADMINISTRATORS, and SPEAKERS in various kinds of [unknown] tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire and strive for the greater gifts [if acquiring them is going to be your goal]. And yet I will show you a still more excellent way [one of the choicest graces and the highest of them all: unselfish love].

FRIENDS -- TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES

Ephesians 5:6 "LET NO ONE DECEIVE YOU with empty arguments [that encourage you to sin], for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience [those who habitually sin]. 7 So do not participate or even associate with them [in the rebelliousness of sin]. 8 For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; WALK AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT [live as those who are native-born to the Light] 9 (for the fruit [the effect, the result] of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10 trying to LEARN [by experience] WHAT IS PLEASING TO THE LORD [and letting your lifestyles BE EXAMPLES of what is most acceptable to Him—your behavior expressing gratitude to God for your salvation]. 11 DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN WORTHLESS AND UNPRODUCTIVE DEEDS OF DARKNESS, but instead EXPOSE THEM [by exemplifying personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character]; 12 for it is disgraceful even to mention the things that such people practice in secret. 13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light [of God’s precepts], for it is light that makes everything visible. 14 For this reason He says,
“AWAKE, sleeper,
And ARISE from the dead,
And Christ will shine [as dawn] upon you and give you light.”
15 Therefore see that you WALK CAREFULLY [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], 16 making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but UNDERSTAND AND FIRMLY GRASP WHAT THE WILL OF THE LORD IS. 18 Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but BE FILLED WITH THE [Holy] SPIRIT AND CONSTANTLY GUIDED BY HIM.. 19 Speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, [offering praise by] singing and MAKING MELODY WITH YOUR HEART TO THE LORD; 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 BEING SUBJECT TO ONE ANOTHER OUR OF REVERENCE FOR CHRIST."

Romans 1:28 "Since THEY DID NOT see fit to ACKNOWLEDGED GOD or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things which are improper and repulsive, 29 until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness. THEY ARE gossips [spreading rumors], 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors [of new forms] of evil, disobedient and disrespectful to parents, 31 WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING, UNTRUSTWORTHY, UNLOVING, UNMERCIFUL [without pity]. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree and His judgment, that those who do such things deserve death, yet THEY NOT ONLY DO THEM, BUT THEY EVEN [enthusiastically] APPROVE AND TOLERATE OTHERS WHO PRACTICE THEM."
"When a dove begins to associate with crows
it's feathers remain white but it's heart turns black."

Proverbs 12:26 One who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Proverbs 14:6-7 A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding. Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.

Proverbs 22:24-25 Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Anybody can sympathize with the sufferings of a friend,
but it requires a very fine nature to sympathize with a friend's success.

MORNING IS BREAKING

"Everything has beauty but
not everyone sees it."

IF THERE WERE NO CLOUDS
WOULD WE SEE AND FEEL THE SUN?

THE DAY EVER SO LONG
BRINGS AN EVENING SONG.

"Calamity has no voice;
Suffering can not speak."

"What soap is to the body,
Tears are to the soul."

No one says, 'Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night, who teaches us more than he teaches the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds in the sky?'
Job 35:10-11

MORNING HAS BROKEN - Cat Stevens (Lyrics)
simon garfunkel bridge over troubled water with lyrics

Joy Comes with the Morning
Psalm 30
1 I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I CRIED TO YOU FOR HELP,
AND YOU HEALED ME.
3 O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;
YOU RESTORED ME TO LIFE from among those who go down to the pit.

4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
WEEPING MAY TARRY FOR THE NIGHT,
BUT JOY COMES WITH THE MORNING.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I shall never be moved.”
7 BY YOUR FAVOR, O Lord,
you made my mountain stand strong;
you hid your face;
I was dismayed.

8 To you, O Lord, I cry,
and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
9 “What profit is there in my death,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
O Lord, be my helper!”

11 YOU HAVE TURNED FOR ME MY MOURNING INTO DANCING;
YOU HAVE LOOSED MY SACKCLOTH
AND CLOTHED ME WITH GLADNESS.
12 THAT MY GLORY MAY SING YOUR PRAISE AND NOT BE SILENT.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

CARRY YOUR BURDEN

“Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isaiah 46:4).

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved” (Psalm 55:22)

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30).

“For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you’” (Isaiah 41:13).

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6, 7).

“He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom” (Isaiah 40:11).
I had spent an hour in the bank with my dad, as he had to transfer some money. I couldn't resist myself & asked...

''Dad, why don't we activate your internet banking?''

''Why would I do that?'' He asked...

''Well, then you wont have to spend an hour here for things like transfer.

You can even do your shopping online. Everything will be so easy!''

I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.

He asked ''If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house?

''Yes, yes''! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything!

His answer left me tongue-tied.

He said ''Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now.

You know I am alone...this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave.

Two years back I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried.

When your Mom fell down few days back while on her morning walk. Our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.

Would I have that 'human' touch if everything became online?

Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer?

I like to know the person that I'm dealing with and not just the 'seller'. It creates bonds of Relationships.

Does Amazon deliver all this as well?'''

PRIDED OF LIFE -- HAUGHTY NAUGHTY

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the PRIDE OF LIFE —is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Proverbs 16:18
PRUDE GOES BEFORE DESTRUCTION,
And A HAUGHTY SPIRIT BEFORE A FALL.

Revelation 3:14-18
"And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, "These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, "I AM RICH, HAVE BECOME WEALTHY, AND HAVE NEED FOR OF NOTHING" —and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Psalm 73:5-9
They are not in trouble as other men,
Nor are they plagued like other men.
Therefore PRIDE SERVES AS THEIR NECKLACE;
Violence covers them like a garment.
Their eyes bulge with abundance;
They have more than heart could wish.
They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression;
THEY SPEAK LOFTILY.
They set their mouth against the heavens,
And their tongue walks through the earth.

Matthew 18:4
Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

1 Corinthians 4:7
For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Deuteronomy 8:3
So HE HUMBLED YOU, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.

Deuteronomy 8:10-14
When you have eaten and are full, then you shall BLESS THE LORD your God for the good land which He has given you. “Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; WHEN YOUR HEART IS LIFTED UP, AND YOU FORGET THE LORD YOUR GOD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

Proverbs 14:3
In THE MOUTH OF A FOOL IS A ROD OF PRIDE,
But the lips of the wise will preserve them.

Proverbs 18:11-12
The rich man's wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own esteem.
BEFORE DESTRUCTION THE HEART OF A MAN IS HAUGHTY,
And BEFORE HONOR IS HUMILITY.

Ezekiel 16:49
Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Habakkuk 2:4-5
"Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith. "Indeed, because he transgresses by wine,
He is a proud man,
And he does not stay at home.
Because he enlarges his desire as hell,
And he is like death, and cannot be satisfied,
He gathers to himself all nations
And heaps up for himself all peoples.

Question: "What is the pride of life?"

"Answer:
The phrase “pride of life” is found only once in the Bible, in 1 John 2:16, but the concept of the pride of life, especially as it is linked with the “lust of the eyes” and the “lust of the flesh,” appears in two more significant passages of Scripture—the temptation of Eve in the Garden and the temptation of Christ in the wilderness (Matthew 4:8-10). The pride of life can be defined as anything that is “of the world,” meaning anything that leads to arrogance, ostentation, pride in self, presumption, and boasting. John makes it clear that anything that produces the pride of life comes from a love of the world and “if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).

The first example of the temptation of the pride of life occurs in the Garden of Eden, where Eve was tempted by the serpent to disobey God and eat the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eve perceived that the fruit was “good for food,” “pleasing to the eye,” and “desirable for gaining wisdom” (Genesis 3:6). She coveted the fruit in three ways. First, it was appealing to her appetite. This John refers to as the “lust of the flesh,” the desire for that which satisfies any of the physical needs. The fruit was also pleasing or delightful to the eye, that which we see and desire to own or possess. Here is the “lust of the eyes” John refers to. Finally, Eve somehow perceived that the fruit would make her wise, giving her a wisdom beyond her own. Part of Satan’s lie was that eating the fruit would make her “like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5).

Here is the essence of the pride of life—anything that exalts us above our station and offers the illusion of God-like qualities, wherein we boast in arrogance and worldly wisdom. Eve wanted to be like God in her knowledge, not content to live in a perfect world under His perfect grace and care for her. Satan tried these same three temptations on Christ during His 40 days in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). He tempted Jesus with the lust of the flesh, bread for His hunger (vv. 2-3), the lust of the eyes, “all the kingdoms of the world with their splendor” (vv. 8-9), and the pride of life, daring Him to cast Himself from the roof of the Temple in order to prove that He was the Messiah by an ostentatious display of power that was not in the will of God or His plan for the redemption of mankind (vv. 5-6). But Jesus, though He was “tempted in every way, just as we are” (Hebrews 4:15), resisted the devil and used the Word of God to ensure victory over him.

Christians have always been, and will always be, lured by the same three temptations Eve and Jesus experienced. Satan doesn’t change his methods; he doesn’t have to because they continue to be successful. He tempts us with the lust of the flesh—sexual gratification, gluttony, excessive alcohol consumption, and drugs, both legal and illegal, as well as the “deeds of the flesh” about which Paul warned the Galatians, “sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these” (Galatians 5:19-21). He tempts us with the lust of the eyes—the endless accumulation of “stuff” with which we fill our homes and garages and the insatiable desire for more, better, and newer possessions, which ensnares us and hardens our hearts to the things of God.

But perhaps his most evil temptation is the pride of life, the very sin that resulted in Satan’s expulsion from heaven. He desired to be God, not to be a servant of God (Isaiah 14:12-15). The arrogant boasting which constitutes the pride of life motivates the other two lusts as it seeks to elevate itself above all others and fulfill all personal desires. It is the root cause of strife in families, churches, and nations. It exalts the self in direct contradiction to Jesus’ statement that those who would follow Him must take up their cross (an instrument of death) and deny themselves. The pride of life stands in our way if we truly seek to be servants of God. It is the arrogance that separates us from others and limits our effectiveness in the kingdom. The pride of life “comes not from the Father, but from the world.” And, as such, it is passing away with the world, but those who resist and overcome the temptation of the pride of life do the will of God, and “the man who does the will of God lives forever” (1 John 2:17)."
FOR MY CHILDREN
I do not ask for riches for my children, Nor even recognition for their skill; I only asked that Thou wilt give them A heart completely yielded to Thy will.
I do not ask for wisdom for my children Beyond discernment of Thy grace; I only ask that Thou wilt use them In Thine own appointed place.
I do not ask for favors for my children To seat them on Thy left hand or Thy right; But may they join the throng in heaven That sings before Thy throne so bright.
I do not seek perfection in my children, For then my own faults I would hide; I only ask that we might walk together And serve our Savior side by side.

PRAY - PRAYER

PRAYER SHOULD BETHE KEY OF THE DAY
AND
THE LOCK OF THE NIGHT.

He who does not pray when the sun shines
will not know how to pray when the cloud roll in.

"WHEN IN PRAYER YOU CLASP YOUR HANDS AND GOD OPENS HIS"

Matthew 7: 7 “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.
9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will [instead] give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will [instead] give him a snake? 11 If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him.

Colossians 4:2 Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.
3 At the same time pray for us, too, that God will open a door [of opportunity] to us for the word, to proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I have been imprisoned; 4 that I may make it clear [and speak boldly and unfold the mystery] in the way I should.

Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is hateful and exceedingly offensive to the Lord,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight!

CHILDREN - FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

What can be heard by little ears should not be spoken by big mouths.
Children have more need for role models than for critics.
Parents who teach their children industry provides them with a fortune.
"It is not easy to straighten in the oakthe crook
that grew in the sapling."
"Parents should work together as efficiently
as two bookends."

Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord [that is, accept their guidance and discipline as His representatives], for this is right [for obedience teaches wisdom and self-discipline]. 2 Honor [esteem, value as precious] your father and your mother [and be respectful to them]—this is the first commandment with a promise— 3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may have a long life on the earth.

4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to the point of resentment with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by showing favoritism or indifference to any of them], but bring them up [tenderly, with lovingkindness] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
