MY CHRISTMAS PRAYER
Matthew 21:22
Dear Father, God in Heaven, (Matthew 6:9)
Thank you for your Special Gift (John 3:16)
You sent me when I was a child. (Matthew 18:3)
Forgive me for all the years I left IT, (1 John 1:9)
Tucked in my BIBLE, out of conscience sight. (Romans 12:5)
I uncovered IT'S LIGHT a few years back, (Proverbs 20:27)
While dusting and cleaning some inner corners of my heart. (Acts 15:9)
God, IT had changed so through the years! OR HAD I? (2 Corinthians 5:17)
IT wasn't a kid in a manger anymore, (Luke 2)
Or tinsel or Santa in a store.
I was shocked to find the kid had become a KING! (Luke 23:38)
Who wanted to share His Riches with me, (Philippians 4:19)
And to rule and watch over my life. (Matthew 2:6)
All HE asked in return was that I'd LOVE my fellow man, (1 Corinthians 13)
And Give your GIFT to them. (Matthew 10:32)
God, IT'S such an unusual GIFT, so complicated, yet so simple.
Seems every time I give IT, IT multiplies
And comes right back to me. (Luke 6:38)
Just last year, (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
I receive IT wrapped in the warmth of relatives and friends.
When my sister died – IT came in flowers, cards, hugs, and prayers!
When we found ourselves in Mid-Life Crisis, and changing in our years,
IT came again through word of encouragement, farewell parties and tears. (2 Timothy 1:4)
IT went before to our new home, (Deuteronomy 31:8)
This time in the form of smiles and hellos, From neighbor children all aglow.
FATHER, I FOUND JESUS IS EVERYWHERE! (Ephesians 1:13)
Showing Himself through people who love and care.
Help us all his Peace to share (John 14:27)
This holiday season and through out the New Year.
Matthew 1 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by [the power of] the Holy Spirit. 19 And Joseph her [promised] husband, being a just and righteous man and not wanting to expose her publicly to shame, planned to send her away and divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, descend...ant of David, DO NOT BE AFRAID to take Mary as your wife, for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a Son, and you shall name Him Jesus (The Lord is salvation), for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 All this happened in order to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet [Isaiah]:
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call HIS NAME IMMANUEL ”—which, when translated, means, “GOD WITH US.”
24 Then Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and he took Mary [to his home] as his wife, 25 but he kept her a virgin until she had given birth to a Son [her firstborn child]; and he named Him Jesus (The Lord is salvation).
Thou wilt keep him in perfect PEACE, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3
PEACE I leave with you, my PEACE I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee PEACE. Numbers 6:24-26 Luke 2: 1 About this time Caesar Augustus, the Roman emperor, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the nation. 2 (This census was taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
3 Everyone was required to return to his ancestral home for this registration. 4 And because Joseph was a member of the royal line, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, King David’s ancient home—journeying there from the Galilean village of Nazareth. 5 He took with him Mary, his fiancĂ©e, who was obviously pregnant by this time.
6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born; 7 and she gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the village inn.
8 That night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly an angel appeared among them, and the landscape shone bright with the glory of the Lord. They were badly frightened, 10 but the angel reassured them.
“Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you the most joyful news ever announced, and it is for everyone! 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born tonight in Bethlehem! 12 How will you recognize him? You will find a baby wrapped in a blanket, lying in a manger!”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God:
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,” they sang, “and peace on earth for all those pleasing him.”
15 When this great army of angels had returned again to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Come on! Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this wonderful thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 They ran to the village and found their way to Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 The shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story expressed astonishment, 19 but Mary quietly treasured these things in her heart and often thought about them.
20 Then the shepherds went back again to their fields and flocks, praising God for the visit of the angels, and because they had seen the child, just as the angel had told them.
