ITS STILL THE CROSS

EVENTS SURROUNDING JESUS' EXECUTION
  1. Judas – BETRAYAL
  2. The disciples arguing about who was greatest or falling asleep in Gethsemane – INSENSITIVITY TO HIS NEEDS AND CONCERSN
  3. The all fled at the time of His arrest –A BANDONMENT
  4. The threefold denial by His most assertive follower, Peter – DENIAL AND DISLOYALTY
  5. False witness at His trail – MISREPRENTATION
  6. The maneuverings of the Jewish leaders – INJUSTICE
  7. The attack by the Roman soldiers – BRUTALITY, ABUSE, AND CRUELTY
  8. Being stripped naked and crucified – HUMILIATION
  9. The taunts of the onlookers – MOCKERY AND VERBAL ABUSE
  10. The deep brutality of the crucifixion itself.
ALL OF THIS WAS INFLICTED ON AN ENTIRELY INNOCENT AND RIGHTEOUS VICTIM!

STILL HE FORGAVE!

It's Still The Cross

THE
CROSS
One board nailed
across another.
For more than
2000 years,
people have followed this sign. In the middle of the
Cross is the heart of the man who died upon it.
A peasant who established a kingdom. A carpenter
who built a church for all times. A sentenced
criminal whose death won eternal life. The
Cross is a sign of contradiction: We gain our soul
by losing it. Our
weakness is our
strength. The
last shall be first.
Our enemies
deserve our love.
The greatest deed
is to care for the
least of humanity.
At the
juncture of two
planks, all truth
can be found –
the crux of life
and death. Let us
make the way of
the Cross our
way of life.
