SILENCE: TO BE STILL
1. In a general sense, stillness, or entire absence of sound or noise; as the silence of midnight.

3. Habitual taciturnity; opposed to loquacity.
4. Secrecy. These things were transacted in silence....

6. Absence of mention; oblivion, Eternal silence be their doom. And what most merits fame, in silence hid.

SI'LENCE, v. t.

Garfunkel once summed up the song's meaning as "the inability of people to communicate with each other, not particularly internationally but especially emotionally, so what you see around you are people unable to love each other."

Silence is a source of great strength.
Wise men are not always silent, but they know when to be.
God is the best listener. You don’t need to shout nor cry out loud because He hears even the silent prayer of a sincere heart!
