THE CROSS WE CARRY
IS NEVER SO HEAVY
AS THE CHAINS
FROM WHICH WE WERE FREED!
The past has just become a shadow.
Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).
The story is told of a woman, who many years ago with her baby, was riding in a stage-coach in western Montana. The weather was bitter cold, and in spite of all the driver could do to protect her, he saw that the mother was becoming unconscious from the cold.
He stopped the coach, took the baby, and wrapping it warmly, put it under the seat, then seized the mother by the arm, and dragging her out upon the ground, drove away, leaving her in the road.
As she saw him drive away, she ran after him, crying piteously for her baby.
When he felt sure that she was warm, he allowed her to overtake the coach and resume her place by her baby.
Can we not imagine her gratitude when she realized that he had saved her life?
He had done as God sometimes does, when he shakes us out of our spiritual dullness and moral sleep, which would end in death.
Revelation 3:1 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,
‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have a name that you are ALIVE, BUT YOU ARE DEAD.
2 BE WATCHFUL, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; HOLD FAST AND REPENT. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.
5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
6‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches’”
Matthew 23:27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.
GAITHER VOCAL BAND - HE CAME DOWN TO MY LEVEL (with lyrics)
From the book of Ezekiel, Chapter 37, God brings Ezekiel to a valley full of dry bones in a dream-like vision. He is commanded to carry a prophecy and the bones connect into human figures, then become covered with flesh and skin. God reveals the bones as the People of Israel in exile and commands the Prophet to carry another prophecy in order to revitalize these human figures. Ezekiel has been chosen to resurrect them and to bring them to the Land of Israel. The fundamental lesson of this story is when the spirit of God is present, his people are enabled to live. Colossians 2:13-15 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (worldliness, manner of life), God made you alive together with Christ, having [freely] forgiven us all our sins, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of legal demands [which were in force] against us and which were hostile to us. And this certificate He has set aside and completely removed by nailing it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.
