ANGELS -- MINISTERING SPIRITS

Angels carry out some of God’s plans
There are numerous ways in which angels carry out God’s plans on earth:
  • "They frequently bring God’s messages to people (Luke 1:11–19, Acts 8:26, 10:3–8, 22, 27:23–24).
  • They carry out some of God’s judgments, bringing a plague upon Israel (2 Samuel 24:16–17), smiting the leaders of the Assyrian army (2 Chronicles 32:21), striking King Herod dead because he did not give God glory (Acts 12:23), or pouring out bowls of God’s wrath on the earth (Revelation 16:1).
  • When Christ returns, angels will come with him as a great army accompanying their King and Lord (Matthew 16:27, Luke 9:26, 2 Thessalonians 1:7).
  • They patrol the earth as God’s representatives (Zechariah 1:10–11).
  • They carry out war against demonic forces (Daniel 10:13; Revelation 12:7–8).
  • John records that an angel “seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit . . .” (Revelation 20:1–3).
  • When Christ returns, an archangel will proclaim his coming (1 Thessalonians 4:16, see also Revelation 18:1–2, 21, 19:17–18, and other passages)."

Stumbling Blocks

Matthew 10:7 “Woe (judgment is coming) to the world because of stumbling blocks and temptations to sin! It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to the person on whose account or through whom the stumbling block comes!

8 “If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble and sin, cut it off and throw it away from you [that is, remove yourself from the source of temptation]; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into everlasting fire. 9 If your eye causes you to stumble and sin, pluck it out and throw it away from you [that is, remove yourself from the source of temptation]; it is better for you to enter life with only one eye, than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fiery hell.

10 “See that you do not despise or think less of one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven [are in the presence of and] continually look upon the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11 [For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.]
The Oak Ridge Boys - Angels Watching Over Me [Live]
Luke 15:10"I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents [that is, changes his inner self—his old way of thinking, regrets past sins, lives his life in a way that proves repentance; and seeks God’s purpose for his life].”
"What I am doing I will keep doing, [for I am determined to keep this independence] in order to cut off the claim of those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things they brag about. For such men are counterfeit apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. So it is no great surprise if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, but their end will correspond with their deeds."2 Corinthians 11:12

The scriptures are a wonderful way of sharing God's truth to others, and we must always check that what is spoken to us is the Word of the Lord. The devil is cunning and many think that just by going to a building that they can find the Lord there. It depends upon what is being spoken - the 'church', the body of Christ on earth, has no walls and God does not live in a house built with hands.
God bless.

Angels too often become agents of superstitions -- and are often believed to be the dead relative with wings, or even omnipotent and equal to God.

Matthew 24:24 "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."

I like you Brenda try to align with the Truth of the Word of God -- In my younger years I trusted too often in things written in books that said they were Christian just for a sales pitch to fish in buyers -- also various magazines and sites online say they are Christian -- but are drawing people through deception -- and will twist one verse completely out of context.
We all can make mistakes in not completely understanding (and appreciate those who study to point out any errors in understanding I may have) -- but that's not deception -- it's growth learning & waiting on the Holy Spirit must be the teacher!

John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you."

2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Absolutely agree with you, we are constantly learning the Lord's ways and wherever we are and whoever we are interacting with the Word of God can not return void to Him.
